2008-2009 "WRANGLER DIVISION ALL-STAR RODEO TEAM" SELECTION CRITERIA

The top two finishing underclassmen for the year in each event in each state and province (top one (1)
finishing underclassman for the year in states or provinces which rodeo exclusively as districts/regions: Alberta,
California, Idaho, South Dakota and Texas) will unofficially earn a position on the 2008-2009 Wrangler Division
All Star Team. However, to be officially placed on the team, each member eligible must rejoin the NHSRA WD by
September 15, 2008, and they must be a member in good standing both nationally and on the state or provincial
level.

To be officially placed on the Wrangler Division All Star Team, each member must agree to wear their
Wrangler All Star Team shirts only with Wrangler jeans when competing at any type of event - regardless of
whether it is an NHSRA WD function or not. This requirement does not dictate the brand of apparel Wrangler
High School All Star Team members must wear when they compete at any event including NHSRA WD
sanctioned events. However, it simply requires that the Wrangler Division All Star Team shirts be worn only with
Wrangler jeans. If a member chooses not to agree to this requirement, then they will forfeit their position on the
Wrangler Division All Star Team. If this occurs, then the next eligible person, if any, in the event that person
qualified for the team in will roll up to fill the vacant spot.
The events will be filled for Wrangler Division All Star Team selection purposes beginning with the events
with the fewest number of contestants registered in the 2007-2008 NHSRA WD national membership database, and
progressing to the events with the greatest total contestants registered. For the 2008-2009 Team that order of events
is as follows: Boy’s Events – BR, TD, CD, BGT, BBK, RR and TR. Girl’s Events – GBK, GGT, PB, BA, RR and
TR.

Once an NHSRA WD member is selected to the Wrangler Division All Star Team, they cannot be selected
for the team in another event. The next eligible person, if any, will unofficially earn a position on the team.
However, no member finishing below eighth place will be eligible for the state/province team. No one finishing
lower than fourth place will be eligible for the district/region team. If there is not an eligible person to fill a spot for
an event on the Wrangler Division All Star Team, then the spot will go unfilled for the year.
In filling the positions for the ribbon roping and team roping, work down through the selection process as
normal. Once you have four ribbon ropers and four team ropers chosen, check to see if the partner of the final
ribbon/team roper selected is an underclassman. If so, also place this person on the team, if they are not already on
the team, even if it gives the state, province, region, or district an additional ribbon roper or team roper on their
team. Use this same process for districts and regions with the exception that you will only select two ribbon ropers
and two team ropers.

If a member who is nominated for the 2008-2009 Wrangler Division All Star Team moves to a different state,
province, district, or region, that person will be placed on the team he or she originally qualified on. However, they
will be ineligible for team captain elections.

Wrangler Division All Star Team captains will be elected by a popular vote of their respective team members.
A boys and girls team captain will be chosen for each state, provincial, district, and region All Star Team.
Any questions regarding the selection of the Wrangler Division All Star Team should be directed to your
respective state/province or district/region secretary. If the secretary needs a clarification on the selection process,
he/she will contact the National Office.
